!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Unlike the other fossil fuels, which are in short supply, wood is a raw material with many advantages:<br \/>\n<strong> Renewable :<\/strong> a tree regenerates in less than 100 years, compared to the thousands years that oil needs.<br \/>\n<strong>Abundant :<\/strong> in Romania there are plenty of forests<br \/>\n<strong>Easily available :<\/strong> you can find wood almost in every geographic region of the country<br \/>\n<strong> Certified : <\/strong>wood is subject of a good traceability all over its progress from forest to factory floor<\/p>\n<p>Compared to concrete or steel, wood is a material which involves low energy consumption. Wood has\/is :<br \/>\n<strong> Low weight :<\/strong> that permits the optimization of energy consumption for its transformation, its transport and its manipulation.<br \/>\n<strong> Dry :<\/strong> a wood building site doesn&#8217;t need water, a rare resource in certain areas of the world.<br \/>\n<strong>Excellent isolating material:<\/strong> its low thermal conductivity can bring significant economies in energy.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to other traditional building materials, reselling or recycling of wood brings insignificant damages to the environment. That&#8217;s because:<\/p>\n<p>Waste from timber factory, after their ecologically treatment, can be recycled as follows:<br \/>\n&#8211; for the fuels industry (shavings or briquettes),<br \/>\n&#8211; for the panels industry,<br \/>\n&#8211; for the paper industry.<\/p>\n<p>Wood prefabricated elements used in house building, don&#8217;t pollute and are recyclable, even at the end of their use.<br \/>\nWood is the only building material which allows us to fight effectively against the greenhouse effect!<br \/>\nin the forest: During the growth process the trees absorb CO2 through the process of photosynthesis. A well maintained and correctly exploited forest can store 16 tones of CO2.<br \/>\nin constructions industry: wood stores CO2 in a ratio of one tone per cm (cubic meter) which is the equivalent of 15 &#8211; 20 tones seized for a medium-sized wooden house. If wood would be left to rot in the woods, all this gas would be eliminated in the atmosphere.<br \/>\nfor fuels: using fire wood proves that an equilibrium can be created between CO2 absorption during tree growth and release during burning. Studies showed that 4 cm (cubic meters) of firewood can generate a tone of oil economy and can avoid the release of 2.5 tones of CO2 in the atmosphere.<br \/>\nUsing wood from sustainable managed forests actually reduces carbon dioxide emissions, as the carbon dioxide stored by the forest and in the timber product outweighs any carbon dioxide created during the making of the product. Each tone of timber used instead of other building materials (steel, or brick and concrete block) saves around an m3 of carbon dioxide.<br \/>\nIt is worth clarifying some of the most common prejudice related to this matter:<\/p>\n<p>Wooden houses are earthquake resistant.<br \/>\nIn fact, the wooden structure is more elastic and takes over the seismic forces better than the rigid brick walls.<br \/>\nWooden houses present no higher fire risks compared to brick houses, but only if the material has been fireproofed properly.<br \/>\nWooden houses are durable.<br \/>\nThe processed wood presents an excellent behavior towards wear and tear and has a good resistance to weather hazards (for instance, the massive wood parquet can last for over 100 years).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Advantages of timber use:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wooden houses have low energy costs, because this material has a very low thermal conductivity. This feature not only saves money for the inhabitants, but also does less harm to the environment, by helping spare the heating fuel.<br \/>\nWood is a solid and durable material if it is well maintained. Proof to that is the fact that some japanese houses are still in a good shape 1.000 years from the building moment. Besides that, contrary to the preconceptions, wood is fire &#8211; resistant &#8211; it burns slowly and wooden structures can resist heavy fires. During the combustion process, wood also emits very low gas quantity. Good proof is the fact that, in some countries like France, firefighters authorized the construction of barriers against heavy fires.<br \/>\nWood has also other advantages: wooden houses can be assembled very fast, and that saves time and manual labor costs. Wooden structures are light and flexible and there&#8217;s no need for a deep foundation.<br \/>\nWooden houses are acoustically comfortable, due to the properties of wood. Moreover, researchers have showed that in comparison with masonry houses, wooden houses are less stressing to live in. Their positive effect on health is certified by the fact that wood is an all organic material. And it is worth to mention here a distinct characteristic of wood &#8211; the capacity of absorbing unpleasant odors.<br \/>\nThe range of plans and facades made possible by the use of wooden structures is very diverse. As this kind of structure is so light, it allows changes in the placement of windows or doors, if necessary.<br \/>\nWhen the family gets bigger, the wooden house can also get bigger &#8211; because additions are easy to make.<br \/>\nThe aesthetical aspect plays an important role in the choice of wood as a construction material. Wooden finishes are fashionable &#8211; walls, ceilings or floors covered in wood create unforgettable interiors.<br \/>\nWooden buildings are common in seismic &#8211; prone areas: old wooden buildings from Japan, Russia, Romania and California are solid proofs.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div    class=\"vc_row wpb_row section vc_row-fluid\" style='background-color:#ffffff; padding-top:25px; padding-bottom:25px; text-align:left;'><div class=\" full_section_inner clearfix\">\n\t<div class=\"vc_col-sm-12 wpb_column vc_column_container \">\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Information Maison Ossature Bois Transilvanie First, let's choose a type of wood !
